Bachelor of Arts in Psychology - Stanford University

Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Spiritual Psychology - University of Santa Monica

I have been a mindfulness practitioner for many years.  A deep interest took hold when a major life transition brought me face to face with myself.  Up until that time, I assumed my life was successful.  I had worked in the business world for many years and was married and had two bright and healthy daughters.  This life transition promoted a deep inquiry and exploration into my internal world leading me to the study of Spiritual Psychology and other spiritual traditions.  Completion of a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology lead me to working with the Redondo Beach Wellness Community.  There I provided therapeutic services to people diagnosed with cancer and worked with their families and friends helping them cope with the impacts of this illness. I went on to work at Family Service of Long Beach where I worked with a diversity of people and treatment modalities.  With this solid foundation,  I went on to study somatic psychology and developmental trauma at the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.  I approach therapy by  integrating psychodynamic theory into mindful self study on the mental, emotional  somatic levels to support my clients in their healing journey.
